SEND Support at Woolton
At Woolton Primary School, we are committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment where every pupil, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), can thrive and achieve their full potential. We recognise the importance of high-quality, differentiated teaching as the foundation of effective SEND provision, complemented by targeted interventions and holistic support tailored to individual needs. Our dedicated staff work collaboratively with pupils, families, and external specialists to ensure personalised learning journeys, fostering wellbeing, engagement, and progress in a warm, neurodiverse-friendly setting. Through ongoing professional development and a strong partnership with parents and carers, we strive to continuously improve our SEND provision in line with best practice and statutory guidance
What to do if you have SEND Concerns about your child.
If you have any significant concerns about your child’s learning or development, please initially contact your child’s class teacher. They will arrange a meeting to discuss your concerns and offer advice.
The teacher will document your concerns and inform the Inclusion Team.
If concerns continue, or if the class teacher also has concerns, we will arrange a meeting with you and a member of the Inclusion Team. During this meeting, support strategies, referrals to external agencies, and possible interventions will be discussed.
Should your child be added to the school’s SEND register, you will be fully consulted and invited to meet with a member of the Inclusion Team.
Miss E O’Connor is the Senior SEN Coordinator and oversees all support for children on the SEND register.
